A Suitable System for Your Roof Window
Opening roof windows, fixed rooflights and larger overhead glazed areas need different solutions. The angle of the glazing, available fixing space and window opening mechanism all affect which blind can be fitted.
We can discuss options for windows from VELUX®, FAKRO®, Keylite®, DAKSTRA® and RoofLITE®. Availability depends on the particular model and size; please send a photograph of the identification plate or label where one is fitted. We will confirm compatibility before an order is placed.
Roof-Window Roller Blinds
A compact option for compatible roof windows, with fabric chosen for the level of light control required. Guided systems help keep the fabric close to the glazing on sloping windows.
Pleated Blinds

Venetian Options
On suitable roof-window systems, tilting slats allow the direction of daylight to be adjusted. Availability and controls depend on the specific window model.
Larger Rooflights & Overhead Glazing
Larger spans may need a specialist tensioned or guided blind rather than a standard roller. Send photographs and dimensions so we can assess the layout, fixing points and access requirements.
Choose the Level of Light Control
Light-filtering and anti-glare options soften incoming daylight for classrooms, workstations and circulation areas. Dim-out fabrics provide stronger shading, while blackout fabrics block light through the material for spaces used for presentations or other activities requiring lower light levels.
Blackout Fabric & Room Darkness
The amount of light entering around the edges depends on the complete blind system and how it is fitted. A blackout fabric alone does not guarantee a completely dark room. Tell us if light exclusion is essential so we can assess a suitable guided or cassette arrangement.

Controls for High-Level Windows
Accessible roof windows may suit manual operation. A compatible control rod can help reach some installations; the window height and selected system determine whether this is practical.
Motorised options are available on selected systems for windows that are difficult to reach. We confirm the power source, control method and any electrical work required in the quotation, along with access for future maintenance or battery charging where applicable.
Survey & Installation Planning
During the survey we check dimensions, fixing positions, window operation and access. For high glazing, please tell us about furniture, stairwells or other obstructions below the windows so suitable access arrangements can be assessed.
Where flame-retardant fabrics or a specific commercial specification are required, please include this in your enquiry. The fabric, operating system and installation scope will be confirmed for the selected product.
